International Tax Expert · Toronto

Cross-border tax expertise built inside the Big 4 — now working for Canadian business owners.

Udit Gupta is an international tax expert with over 15 years of experience in cross-border tax, transfer pricing, international tax, corporate tax filing, GST/HST and CRA representation. He qualified as a chartered accountant in India and again in Malaysia, and built his career inside the Big 4 at Ernst & Young and Deloitte, advising on complex corporate and cross-border tax matters.

He founded Tax Filings Canada in 2019 to bring that global perspective to Canadian entrepreneurs, startups and non-resident business owners — at a price a growing business can actually afford.

A tax expert for businesses that cross borders

Most accountants handle Canadian tax. Udit handles what happens when a business, an owner or a payment sits in more than one country.

International tax

Foreign-source income, foreign affiliates, treaty positions, withholding tax and reporting obligations for Canadian corporations with activity abroad.

Cross-border tax

Non-resident shareholders and directors, cross-border payments, Section 116 issues, and businesses operating on both sides of a border at once.

Transfer pricing

Intercompany pricing between related entities in different countries, supporting documentation, and defending the position if the CRA asks.

Corporate tax filing

T2 returns, schedules and GIFI prepared and filed accurately and on time, including catch-up work on overdue years.

The cross-border work Udit does now is the work he did at two of the world's four largest accounting firms — Ernst & Young and Deloitte, both in corporate and international tax advisory — for clients who could afford Big 4 rates. Tax Filings Canada exists so growing businesses can get the same thinking without them.
